Updates from the Road!
Hello Everyone-
I hope you all are enjoying the wonderful weather that has been served up for us. It sure has made riding and practicing enjoyable. I have been taking some time to get horses and myself ready for the upcoming summer rodeos. It isn't often you are blessed to have several very nice horses standing there ready to go. For the first time in my career I have the dilemna of which horse to take to the rodeo. My new horse, Sniper, which I have been training for the past year continues to amaze me by leaps and bounds. His first rodeos were San Angelo and Belton. Had I drawn better on my second steer at San Angelo he would have carried me to the progressive round. Charlie is still doing great but having Sniper has allowed me to practice less on Charlie and let him rest up for the big rodeos. After hauling the same horse all over the state of Texas for several years now I have sort of learned what arenas Charlie really enjoys working in and what arenas just do not seem to suit him. This is where Sniper comes in handy, I plan on hauling him to all of the places it seems like for some reason Charlie does not work as well at. I am looking forward to having some pictures up of all of the horses soon. I have also acquired a very fun back up hazing horse to give Spiderman a break some as well. He is a flashy sorrel gelding and is very enjoyable to haze on.
I have been picking and choosing my rodeos lately, trying not to overdo things and give myself more time at home to get myself and the horses ready for the upcoming summer run which I know will have me at several rodeos every weekend as well as during the week. I do apologize for not having a more recent update but I have been extremely busy with this many horses. I spent the Easter weekend with Rope Myers assisting at his annual steer wrestling school. I have to say that helping with these schools has to be one of the most rewarding things I am blessed to be able to do. This is a bountiful environment to be able to share my love for the Lord as well as my passion about steer wrestling and rodeo. It also happens to be a great place to showcase all of my horses and the condition they are in. I continue to be overwhelmed by their condition and the muscle mass they have acquired from the feed. I actually have a barrel racer in Dallas that wants me to find a way to get the feed to her so she can use it to increase weight and muscle mass on her horses. I was planning on competing at the Cuero rodeo this coming weekend but my girlfriend managed to break all three bones in her ankle this past weekend. She had surgery on it this week to repair a very bad break to all three bones. I was really looking forward to Cuero but family comes first so I will be staying behind to help take care of her post op until she is feeling better. The month of May looks to be very busy though and I plan on getting Sniper to as many rodeos as possible to season him a little more and give him the opportunity to show what he is capable of. As soon as I have a better idea of my schedule I will be sure to let everyone know. I am very excited to have these two wonderful animals to choose from as I move forward to compete this summer. I plan on attending enough CPRA rodeos to qualify for their finals again and staying a little closer to Texas than I did last summer. Going up north to attend such prestigious rodeos last year was an amazing experience and I definitely look forward to doing it again very soon, but this year it looks like I will be staying closer to Texas throughout the summer.
I want to thank you all for your continued support. I have had the amazing opportunity to take my trailer to events away from rodeo like the NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth this year. It is always fun to talk to rodeo people about rodeo, but an even more fulfilling experience to talk to people that know nothing about rodeo and turn them on to attending a rodeo and answer any of their questions about the sport and my horses. They are always amazed and interested. I have been asked to do some PR for the rodeo at the Cedar Park Events Center in Cedar Park, TX again this year, and when I know when and where that will take place, I will be sure to fill everyone in. If you know someone, or live in the central Texas area I highly recommend attending this rodeo. It has to be one of the most unique rodeo experiences in this area. The action is very up close and personal with the layout of this exceptional facility. I do not think I have ever competed in a nicer building. Feel free to contact with me more information about it.
Enjoy this wonderful weather God has blessed us with if you are in the central Texas area. It is so nice to see rain and green grass again. I look forward to seeing everyone on the road and catching up. There will be a lot of updates this summer and pictures of the new horses posted soon. Thank you to all of my wonderful sponsors. I know I am blessed to have your continued support through the ups and the downs.
Blessings,

On the Road!
Hello Everyone-
I hope everyone has had a wonderful week, I know here in Texas it has been full of Spring Breakers enjoying the holiday, meanwhile I have been enjoying this time change and the much needed rain. I usually work my horses in the afternoons so it has allowed me a little more daylight to work with. The rain has slowed some things down practice wise, but I am really enjoying how green things are finally looking around here. It has been quite a blessing and I look forward to it continuing, in the same breath, I hope it holds out until the rodeo weekend is over. I hit the road this afternoon to travel to Goliad and Mercedes PRCA rodeos. Goliad has to be one of my all time favorite rodeos. They have the most wonderful committee and everyone there is extremely outgoing. It is a Smith Prorodeo's Production and I always enjoy Stace Smith's rodeos. I will travel to Goliad tonight to watch the steers run in the performance then meet up with Josh Clark and Trey Green to travel to Mercedes on Saturday. We got entered the best way we possibly could this weekend, running our steers during the last performance at Mercedes on Saturday night (I always like Saturday night performances) and then we will travel back to Goliad, where we will compete on Sunday afternoon in the matinee performance at 2 pm. I am not a big fan of competing on Sundays, but last performances always seem to be rewarding and allow you to make a pretty good game plan.
The horses look amazing, all of that winter hair is finally coming off. They look good shiny and slicked off for the spring and summer. Everyone is healthy and ready to get on the road and compete this summer. I have been spending some extra time with Charlie lately making sure he feels his best, as he turns another year older this year he definitely does not look, or act 21. When I get him out to exercise him I would swear he acts more like an 8 year old. I have been truly blessed by his longevity and working demeanor. I always believe that what you put into those animals is what you will get out of them and there is nothing better than to sow that seed and reap the harvest from your hard work and care.
I really look forward to catching up with some of you on the road this summer. I will keep everyone updated with my travel plans as they continue to get made and I enter more and more rodeos. Keep an eye on the website, it is getting updated frequently with new pictures and videos as well as my contributions to the posts at www.horseadayblog.com. The summer rodeos are upon us folks, I hope you are able to make it out to one and enjoy the competition and the animal athletes as well. Have a blessed weekend.
Thank you all very much for your support,
Terry Meadows

A Week of Wrestling!
I went to Ft. Worth and ran my second steer there and unfortunately did not do very well. Charlie and I will be in the practice pen today and tomorrow working out a few kinks so we are at the top of our game as we head to Los Fresnos, Belton, and San Angelo in the next week. I look forward to returning to Los Fresnos, it has been good to me over the years and it is one I normally leave with a check in hand. One year I was blessed to win that rodeo and have my hauling partner at the time, Josh Clark, win second. It is a lot of fun to go compete and the whole truck do that well. With the weather being so nice I have had lots of time to work horses and exercise them more. Everyone is really snapping into shape and they all seem to feel healthy and ready to go.
I am excited about my new horse, Sniper, and am trying to decide which rodeos to use him at this year. It is really hard to get off of Charlie because I have so much success riding him, but I feel Sniper is up to the challenge and I want to ease him into things to start taking some of the load off Charlie. Don't get me wrong, Charlie is still going strong and running harder than ever, even at 20 years old, but if I don't start seasoning Sniper then he won't be ready when his number gets called.
I have a new practice facility that I will be working on in the next month so I am excited for that to come together. It should make things easier on me and allow for more time in the practice pen as opposed to more time getting things ready. I will share it's progress with you as things develop more. I want to thank you all so much for your support and I look forward to meeting up on the road somewhere. Here are the dates and locations of where I will be competing in the coming week....
Sunday February 5th - Los Fresnos PRCA Rodeo, Los Fresnos, TX (2 pm Matinee Performance)
Wednesday February 8th - Bell County PRCA Rodeo, Belton, TX (5:30 pm Slack Performance)
Thursday February 9th - San Angelo PRCA Rodeo, San Angelo, TX (8 am Entire First Round Steer Wrestling Slack)
Friday February 10th - San Angelo PRCA Rodeo, San Angelo, TX (8 am Entire Second Round Steer Wrestling Slack)
Almost a full week of steer wrestling!

The horses look GREAT and are working wonderfully through this summer, I cannot complain one bit there. Dr. Janet Arlitt at Live Oak Vet Clinic has kept everyone in tip top shape and the Ful O Pep feed has them slicked off and full of muscle and energy. I have been very pleased with the shape my horses have been in and their performance. I want to thank everyone for their continued support and for believing in me as I do. Last night I started the first part of my trip, driving to Ben Wheeler, TX to meet with Paul Doherty. From here we head to Woodward, Oklahoma, the location of our first rodeo on a month long trip and where we will meet up with Beau Clark. That's right, a month of rodeo. I have spent the last month or so getting dates and travel plans lined up to be able to release almost all of the dates and locations to everyone. I felt it was best to share almost all of them with you than to just wait and give you bits and pieces, hence the lack in communication lately. I have been traveling and competing, just staying closer to home. I got a great opportunity during the Cedar Park Pro Rodeo to sign some autographs and work in close proximity with the fans. The Texas rodeos have been good to me, but I am excited about the opportunity to head north, out of state, and enjoy what these rodeos have to offer, especially the money to be won. I have had recent stops in Wimberley, Belton, Georgetown, Brownwood, Coleman, Liberty Hill and Cleburne, just to name a few....but the news I really want to share is what is coming in the future. I leave Texas today for Oklahoma, making my first stop to compete in Woodward tomorrow, after that the next few weeks looks like this:
All of these rodeos are PRCA events.
Woodward, OK Tue July 19th (first round)
Pretty Prairie, KS July 20th
Woodward, OK July 21st (second round)
Hardtner, KS July 22nd
Manhattan, KS July 23rd (morning slack)
Wahoo, NE July 23rd (night performance)
Drive to Cheyenne, WY July 24th
Cheyenne, WY July 25th (first round)
Cheyenne, WY July 26th (second round)
Deadwood, SD July 27th (first round)
Deadwood, SD July 28th (second round)
Burwell, NE July 29th (first round)
Burwell, NE July 30th (second round)
----More rodeos to come----
Abilene, KS August 3rd (morning)
Phillipsburg, KS August 3rd (night performance)
Dalhard, TX August 5th
Dodge City, KS August 6th (round 1&2)(tour rodeo)
----More rodeos to come----
Lawton, OK August 11th
As you can see, I am going to be busy. I have to say that getting to compete at rodeos like Cheyenne, Dodge City KS, and Deadwood SD is living a dream for me. Cheyenne, for those of you that do not know, is dubbed "The Daddy of 'em All" and is probably the biggest and most popular rodeo behind the National Finals. There are 185 steer wrestlers entered there this year, and added money alone is over $40,000, not to mention all of those entry fees. I will try to keep my website updated as much as possible, but am at the mercy of the scheduling of Silver Buckle Services since it will be very difficult for me to update my site from the road. Anytime I am able to sit down and do so I will. I will be posting pictures and updates as often as I can to my Facebook page, which I hope will be daily. These will show up on the website as well, just may be delayed in posting as I have not mastered updating my website from my phone yet. I feel very blessed to have this opportunity and look forward to the blessings I get to walk through from this point forward. If you received this email you had a part in my journey and I thank you from my heart for all of your continued support, in the ups and the downs. Coming to you from my Rolling M Living Quarters as my journey begins..... Live Pure Speak True Right Wrong Follow the King

I recently had a great opportunity to attend a men's fellowship for two days. The speaker was Robert Noland who has been involved in ministry, and men's ministry for thirty years. I had the opportunity to read his great book "The Knights Code" before attending this "retreat" and was very intrigued and moved by it. It was quite a blessing to get to meet Robert and then hear him speak over the many things mentioned in the book. My advice to all of my male friends is, if there isn't at least one thing in that book that doesn't address you as a man, then it addresses one of your buddies and you need to be able to learn about something they could be going through to be armed to help them, and to pray for them. I highly suggest picking up a copy or looking into hearing Robert speak. If you are man that feels he needs to make some changes in his life and want to do it internally, true changes that take place from the inside out, then this is definitely the book you should pick up. Check out the website www.theknightscode.com and you can also get the book on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Knights-Code-Robert-Noland/dp/0982913001/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1306399171&sr=1-1 that is the direct link to it or you can just go to www.amazon.com and search for The Knights Code. If you have an questions about the book and Robert Noland feel free to contact me, I would enjoy sharing what a wonderful and life changing experience I had reading this book and spending time reflecting over Robert's teachings after hearing him speak. The principles he teaches of living your life are amazing that they are right there in front of you and follow along with serving God and how we should all pursue living our lives.
Back on the Road
Hello Everyone- I hope this finds you all doing wonderful and those of you in Texas I hope are enjoying this beautiful Texas weather. I have to apologize in the delay of email from me. There just has not been much going on in the arena lately for me due to an injury I sustained competing at the Corpus Christi, TX PRCA rodeo. I continued to compete after the injury at Lufkin, TX PRCA, Athens, TX PRCA, Whitney, TX CPRA and Helotes, TX PRCA, against my doctors advice I might add. Let's see, how did he put it, he told me "It is going to hurt if you compete and it is going to take longer to heal..." well, he was right...I feel like the injury wound up keeping me from placing at several of these rodeos but I thought I could play through the pain and find a better time to take a break. After running five steers in three days with the injury I decided to heed his advice and take a few weeks off. Those of you that know me well know that a few weeks off in the arena, does not mean things slowed down for me. At Corpus the ground in the arena is extremely hard, on my second steer he kind of fell on me, with his horn underneath me, which crunched me a little. In doing so I managed to crack the cartilage above my ribs to the left of my sternum. The pain is very similar to breaking a rib, and the only thing you can do for it is rest. After the first week I got back in the gym and started doing a lot of cardio and whatever core workouts I could to keep in shape, since I was unable to practice...This week has been the first week that I felt good to start lifting weights again and have continued with the core workouts as well. I went to the Giddings CPRA rodeo and competed this past Saturday, but a missed haze kept me from being able to compete on my steer. I felt pretty healthy heading to that rodeo but the heavy weightlifting I have been doing this week has really boosted my confidence as to how healthy I am and that I am ready to be back in the arena. I have the Killeen, TX PRCA rodeo lined up for this Friday night followed by Bandera, TX PRCA rodeo Sunday night. Bandera happens to be one of my favorites on the circuit so I am definitely looking forward to it. While I was out of the arena I got a great opportunity to do some work promoting the upcoming rodeo at the Cedar Park Events Center which is located about ten minutes down the road from me. They have concerts and other events in this Center but this will be their first rodeo. It is also the facility that the Texas Stars hockey team calls home. I was able to be on hand to sign autographs, promote my sponsors, promote the sport of rodeo, and inform fans of this great upcoming event. It was a lot of fun being in the facility during hockey games and especially all the kids, families, and future rodeo fans that showed up for "Disney on Ice". This rodeo is going to be very unique due to the layout of the venue and size of the arena. The arena is not going to be much bigger than the arena they use in Las Vegas for the National Finals Rodeo, so we will be seeing some very fast times. The way the seats are arranged you are up close and personal to the action so it will be great for the fans. I also made my trip to the Rope Myers Steer Wrestling School in Van, TX and got a great opportunity to assist Rope in teaching his school and hopefully making a difference in some young peoples lives. I have a few "students" around the house now that my free time has allowed me to start teaching as well. I have to say I am very thankful for the time I had to slow down briefly. It gave me some time to focus on some things personally and spiritually. I was able to attend a few more things at church and be a part of some great fellowship. The biggest blessing I got was being able to attend the Men's Retreat and hear Robert Noland speak about his book "The Knights Code". It was a great read and you will see me promoting Robert's book some on my website. It definitely impacted my life and I saw the lives of many other men impacted as well. The break also allowed me the time to test out and purchase another hazing horse named "Sniper" to add to my remuda. He will allow Spiderman to pull more double duty as a hazing and steer wrestling horse and allow Charlie breaks from some of the smaller venues. Coming across him was quite a blessing and he has fit in quite well. I took some pictures of him when I first got him so I can give him what I like to call "The Ful O Pep Challenge". I am looking forward to showing off these before and after pictures to folks of how much muscle growth can be produced from the great feed and some exercise. I plan on taking pictures at one month intervals but in my opinion there will be a vast amount of difference in this horses muscle mass in under three months. Well folks, I think that pretty much catches up what I have been up to lately. I always miss competing but I have to say it has been nice to spend more time with my church family and my family. I got to watch my nephew have a great baseball season. If you ever need a boost go watch a group of eight year olds play little league. You will quickly be reminded that competition is supposed to be fun, and in many of those young boys you will see the definition of "try". I look forward to catching up to all of you in person sometime soon. I have attached the new autograph flyer's that Silver Buckle Services designed for me. They did a wonderful job as always. I got my new Truth Soul Armor clothing in the mail and can't wait to get some pictures posted displaying that as well. Go check out the website if you haven't been there yet. www.meadowsperformancehorses.com or www.meadowsrodeo.com, either one will take you to the same site. Summer is upon us, enjoy, and God Bless!
Updates from the Rodeo Road
Hello Everyone, I hope this update finds everyone doing great and you all got time to slow down for Easter to enjoy time with friends, family, and the Lord. I have been going strong lately but have been plagued by bad steers, uncooperative horses, and dismal performances. We still have our heads up and will make it through to the next week of rodeos coming up, but needless to say there hasn't been a whole lot to be excited about. I will say that after Charlie came off of two dismal performances that he did bounce back and has been performing better than ever. I am just going to chalk it up to he had a bad night and a bad morning that weekend and has recovered now. He worked great for me at Corpus Christi PRCA on Monday morning but I do not feel like I competed well or just didn't do that great of a job on the steers I had drawn. To top it off I wound up cracking come cartilage below my chest on my second steer there. The doctor said I am ok to compete but that it is going to be a bit painful....that will be alright though, not the first time in my career I had to just go with the circumstances given. Charlie's mishaps took place at Longview PRCA and Corsicana CPRA. Not really sure what was going on with him but he seemed to have recovered from it by last Monday morning. Over the past few weeks I have been to Nacogdoches PRCA and Huntsville Texas PRCA and then had another full weekend with DeRidder Louisiana PRCA and Beaumont PRCA as well as Hemphill CPRA rodeos. I was one out of winning something at DeRidder but didnt draw very good steers at any of those three rodeos. Upon returning home from Corpus Christi I did get a great opportunity to attend a Texas Stars hockey game at the Cedar Park Events Center. The center will be hosting it's first PRCA rodeo June 23rd, 24th, and 25th. I was invited out by Bad Company rodeo to sign autographs and help promote the rodeo. It was a great opportunity to take time to talk to fans, represent sponsors, and sign some autographs at such an upscale facility.
The rodeo action there is going to be very fast paced with the small arena and with the seating so close to the action the fans are really going to love it. I leave tomorrow for Lufkin PRCA, Athens PRCA, and then travel down to the Helotes PRCA. I look forward to Helotes where I will be competing for the all around title and am also entered in the calf roping, team roping, as well as the steer wrestling. I have all three of those runs during the performance Friday night, so I will be getting a lot of arena time. I am saddened to say that on the way to Lufkin tomorrow I will be making a stop in Ennis TX for the funeral of a good friend, competitor, and hazer. Reagon Walker was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday and the world, especially the rodeo world, lost a very good young man. Reagon was only 21 but was highly respected by his peers and had hazed for me at all of the big winter rodeos including the two runs that qualified me for the progressive round at San Angelo PRCA and the good run I made at the Forth Worth PRCA rodeo that was just a little too long to get a check. Reagon will be greatly missed and I know my heart is heavy when I realize I won't be seeing him at the rodeos anymore. Please keep his family in your prayers. Reagon was always positive and always had a smile on his face. I am going to miss a good buddy. I will be hitting the road in the morning, enjoying the sound of the rain we so badly need right now. Other than Charlie's two off days the horses have been doing great and feeling great. I had to cut back on Spiderman's feed a little bit, he was starting to get a bit chunky even with the amount of exercise he was getting. It is amazing how his body mass has increased. Hope to see ya'll along the road somewhere, and as Reagon would say, it's time to "do work" on Wednesday morning in Lufkin. God Bless Terry Meadows PRCA Steer Wrestler
Updates from the Rodeo Road
Happy Monday!Hope everyone had a great weekend and got outside to enjoy that beautiful weather. I really hate sending out an email without a lot of success to put in it but every weekend can't be perfect I suppose. I do have to give credit to my horses, they performed great for me and gave me some great opportunities to win, I just did not draw the steers I needed to have to win. I did the best with that I had and none of the three runs I made this weekend came together. I was blessed to be able to use Spiderman to haze for Morgan Grant at the George West CPRA rodeo where Morgan won second. So we will move on to the upcoming week on that positive note. This is going to be a busy week without much downtime before I head out again. A practice session before I get on the road Tuesday evening with a run in Huntsville Wednesday and Thursday morning. From Huntsville I head to Nacogdoches for the PRCA rodeo there on Friday night. Hopefully a top 20 progressive round brings me back to Huntsville on Saturday night, I know I am due for some good runs and some good steers.Enjoy your week everyone, I get back on the road tomorrow, good thing that Rolling M Trailer is awfully comfortable.
Blessings,Terry
Updates from the Rodeo Road
Hello Everyone, Well it is Monday and I find myself home for the week. I got to enjoy a weekend off this weekend, well as off as I could. Saturday night I attended the Xtreme Bulls competition at Rodeo Austin and enjoyed spending time with some friends. Sunday I was back in the practice pen preparing for the busy schedule for the weeks ahead. There were definitely ups and downs for my trip to Bay City and Glen Rose. A broken barrier at Bay City cost me the chance to come away with a check even after overcoming a not-so-good steer but I fortunately redeemed myself at Glen Rose. A great steer and good run put together a first place run for us at Glen Rose. Both of these were PRCA rodeos. I was very proud of the way the horses worked after the trip to South Texas then back up to North Texas. This weekend I head back towards South Texas. I will be in Goliad Friday morning watching the slack competition to get a good idea on what the cattle are like, I do not compete in Goliad until Sunday. Friday night I compete in Mercedes. From Mercedes we head to Georgewest for the CPRA rodeo on Saturday. I enter Georgewest this evening at six, our goal is to get up on Saturday night, if not, then we will compete Saturday morning. On Sunday I return to Goliad to compete in the Sunday afternoon performance. After Goliad I head home for two days to prepare for the Huntsville Texas PRCA rodeo. I run my first steer there on Wednesday and my second one on Thursday. The top 20 compete in the progressive rounds Friday and Saturday in Huntsville. While over in East Texas I will also be competing in the Nacogdoches PRCA rodeo on Friday night March 25th. That rounds out my travels for the next two weeks. Beaumont and DeRidder Louisiana are on the books for the first weekend of April but no definite performance times are known at this point. I am definitely feeling very blessed with the success I have had. Just about every run has been a good run so I know the wins will start rolling in more consistently soon. The horses are healthy and I feel great, so I am definitely looking forward to my busy schedule. I hope everyone has a great week and I look forward to seeing you somewhere on the road. God Bless, Terry Meadows
Updates from the Rodeo Road
Hello All- I know it has been a while since I have touched based so I wanted take a little time on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to catch everyone up to speed. Things all in all have been GREAT. I made a great run on my second steer at Ft. Worth, but just didn't have the right kind of steer drawn to allow me to be fast enough to place. At San Angelo I came across the same set of circumstances. My first round steer wasn't that great but I was able to put a really good run together on him and only be three tenths too long to receive a check. The second round steer wasn't very good at all, but I was able to put a run together that qualified me for the top 80 progressive round and move on. My third (progressive round) steer was not very good either unfortunately. I put together the best run I could on him but was not fast enough to place or qualify for the short round. I left San Angelo with my head up though, frustrated, but with the confidence things would turn around. Charlie had been working great and doing his job extremely well. I can tell he feels good and strong and the winter didn't slow him down at all. He seems to be enjoying this weather and I can sense an even strong amount of focus for both of us. I traveled to Katy this weekend for the CPRA's big membership rodeo. Katy is one of the biggest CPRA rodeos of the year and draws many competitors. I drew a steer there that was supposed to be pretty good, but really, really run, to the point that even though he was good he would tend to run too fast to allow a check to be won on him. Charlie and I went in focused and prepared for the steer we had drawn and put together probably one of the best runs on my career thus far. Not because of what the clock said, but because Charlie and I both did our jobs with complete perfection. Even with that steer drawn I made a great run and was able to place on him and leave Katy with a check in my pocket, just furthering my position in the CPRA standings for the year. That was a great confidence booster and it felt great for everything to come together and be blessed with such a great run. I now look forward to a busy month. I leave for Bay City PRCA Friday, followed by Glen Rose on Saturday. I will spend some time Sunday after church in the Ft. Worth area practicing with a friend. The weekend of the 11th & 12th sends me to Marshall Texas PRCA. The rest of March will take us to Mercedes, Goliad, Huntsville, Nacogdoches for the PRCA, and Georgewest for the CPRA. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this beautiful weather. I look forward to hopefully seeing some of you from Ful O Pep at Goliad again. Thank you all for all of your support. Blessings, Terry
Updates from the Rodeo Road
Hello all- I hope everyone is staying warm. I sit in my trailer with the heater running at the arena in Ft. Worth Texas to catch everyone up on how things have been going. I ran my first steer here on Thursday and was a little longer than I really wanted to be for the round, but have to chance to catch up in the average and hopefully make it to the short round here. It is one of my favorite rodeos and they put on a great show, if you have never had a chance to come out during the Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo I highly recommend it, there is a lot going on from livestock and horse shows, the rodeo, shopping, and a huge midway for the carnival. The horses are doing great, I gave them a little R&R through the winter months but a pretty good exercise regiment was kept up so we come into these winter rodeos strong and healthy. Spiderman and Charlie are shining and have plenty of finish and muscle to help them to compete at their best on the road. As most of you know the rodeo year started in October, the 2010 rodeo year ended well and 2011 started up right where it left off. One of the last rodeos of the year was New Braunfels PRCA where I placed third in the steer wrestling in September. With the 2011 season starting I kept that trend going with a win at Austin County Fair and PRCA Rodeo in Bellville Texas with a time of 3.9. I was able to follow up the win at Bellville with a second place run in Rockdale Texas CPRA and a second place run in Corsicana Texas CPRA. I enjoyed my slight break over the winter months to spend a little time with friends and family but I have really been ready to get on the road and continue with the early success I am having this season.
During that break I go to spend some time with Rope Myers at his Thanksgiving steer wrestling school and his Elite Rodeo school over New Years, where I was invited to come help instruct as well as stay sharp alongside one of my peers. My trip to Odessa was not very good to me though, I drew two steers there that took me out of placing. I have made some return trips to Corisicana but have been unsuccessful, mainly using those runs as training tools to keep myself and my horse sharp for the bigger rodeos that are ahead of me this year. I have a run in Corsicana tomorrow, then return to Ft Worth next week to run my second steer. After that rodeos that are currently on the horizon in the PRCA are Los Fresnos, San Angelo, and Belton. There are many, many more but that will give you an idea where I am headed in the next few weeks. On the CPRA side of things after the run in Corsicana those slow down until the end of February with rodeos in Katy and Humble.
An addition to Meadows Performance Horses and Terry Meadows: Riding for Your Brand this year we announce my NEW WEBSITE!!! I am very excited about the opening of it in the coming months. All of my current sponsors will be included on it in thanks to your early and continued support of my competition. It will be a great place to obtain information about myself and my sponsors including links directly to your web pages. I will be sure to let you all know when it is online and ready to go so you can all check it out. Thanks to Kasha and Melissa at Silver Buckle Services for helping me with this. I want to thank you all for your continued support. I look forward to another succesful year and enjoy the privelege of representing your companies. I hope to see you on the road somewhere soon.
