About Terry
First off I just want to share with everyone how blessed I am and how much I thank the Lord for that. I have a wonderful support team in my family, friends, church, and sponsors. With out all of this support I would not be where I am today, and truly is a blessing to have so many people that believe in me and the dream of success I have in the rodeo industry.
I am 29 years old and have two wonderful parents that raised me to respect my elders and women, and to use my manners. I feel that respect for the people around me has led me to a lot of the opportunities I have today. I have an older brother who ropes calves and has always supported me, along with my sister in law and two nephews. My home, when I am there, is close to my family and I enjoy that aspect of my life.

When I am not on the road traveling for rodeos I work part time for an electrical company in pursuance of an electrical journeyman's license. I feel it is always good to have something to fall back on and I enjoy learning new things. I am also learning small engine repair to be able to service and fix minor problems on generators while I travel.
I believe success is the intersection of opportunity and preparation. I take pride in being prepared, in being an athlete and treating my body as a temple. I am particular about what goes in it and try to spend at least four days a week in the gym, even when traveling. I feel the same way about my horses, they are athletes as well, therefore what they eat and their exercise are very important to my success. I grew up in Georgetown Texas. I started off showing horses at a young age which was an advantage for the start of my rodeo career. I knew how to ride and train horses as well as the care they needed before I ever decided I wanted to rodeo. I got tired of the slow pace of showing and wanted something faster, and more demanding of me physically. I started about like any youngster does, entering playdays and youth rodeos. I soon graduated from all of the speed events and begin to fine tune myself at calf roping. It was definitely my first love among the rodeo events. Team roping was easy to pick up as I started mastering calf roping. In high school I was a member of the football team, FFA, and National High School Rodeo Association. I played linebacker and tight end in football, showed goats and judged horses in FFA, and competed in the calf roping, team roping, and steer wrestling at high school rodeos. Looking back, I guess you could say I was a pretty busy kid. |
Scholarships for college rodeo led me to Sam Houston State, but before I could finish up I had my PRCA card and was rodeoing professionally.
I made my home back in Georgetown Texas where I currently reside. I am a member of Central Baptist Church in Round Rock Texas and am blessed to enjoy the support of the congregation there as I travel to rodeos. I definitely strive to win with each run I make, but I have learned through my faith just how blessed I am to be able to compete and live my dream, so I have to say I am very thankful just to be able to ride my horses into that arena each time and have the mental and physical ability to compete at the level I do. It truly is a blessing. I am used to being different, I am used to standing out and I believe that is what makes me a great spokesperson for products. I stand behind every product I use and believe in integrity, honesty, and chivalry.
